Limited Registration
Most often we place our Shepherds in loving homes as pet companions with limited registration. Limited Registration does not mean you have an inferior registration. It does mean that we care about the breed and have invested much to produce the highest quality in our German Shepherd puppies. We simply do not want to contribute to the problem of well intentioned people unknowingly breeding to an undesirable sire or dam which may produce Shepherds inferior to the breed standard we have tried to produce in our kennel.
Limited Registration simply means:
1.) The dog is AKC registered but no litters produced by the dog are eligible for AKC registration.
2.) The dog will be ineligible to be entered in a breed competition (conformation, etc.) in a licensed or member dog show.
3.) It does NOT hinder entering any other licensed or member competition. You are free to enter: Obedience, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing, Agility, etc.
Full Registration?
With full registration, none of the above restrictions apply. The Shepherd may be used for breeding at maturity, with all litters eligible for AKC registration. The Shepherd is also eligible for breed competition in all areas. There are no restrictions, neither by the breeder nor the AKC. Because of the large investment our kennel has in our breeding stock, when we share this investment with another breeder, there will be an additional $200 required for full registration.
